Who we are
We respectfully acknowledge that we are on the unceded traditional territory of the K'ómoks First Nation.
The Comox Valley Nurses for Health & the Environment is a group of actively practicing as well as student and retired nurses.
We use our trusted position in the health care profession and public to raise awareness, implement actions, and undertake advocacy efforts on environmental health issues that threaten health and well-being in the Comox Valley.
HOW WE WORK
By increasing knowledge of environmental issues
By facilitating behavioural change in people
By contributing to the formulation of public policy involving the environment

The time is now.
Climate change isn't in some far-off future, it's happening now. Let's get real about the impacts it will have on our health and the things we can do to help mitigate the damage.
It's time to ban the bag.
1000 years. It will take 1000 years for one plastic bag to biodegrade. CVNHE has lobbied municipal governments in the Comox Valley to implement a single-use plastic bag ban, and this is just the beginning.
"No amount of medical knowledge will lessen the accountability for nurses to do what nurses do, that is, manage the environment to promote positive life processes."
